Laith Salma is currently a student in New York City, currently studying a lot of different subjects.

He seems to have more of a love of learning than anything else, and while he does want to go into some kind of work someday, there’s just no worry about that for him. He is relatively young, as far as students go, and his family has the money he needs to keep this going almost indefinitely.Salma has several different passions and, sadly, not a single one of them has anything to do with the other. For instance, he has an interest in cellular biology, with an eye toward medical knowledge and the application for the good of others.

At the same time, though, he’s very interested in engineering. He genuinely enjoys the study of electrical engineering, making circuits and calculating the rate at which any of these things will actually flow. His idea here is to work on something related to computers, although he isn’t quite sure where he’d go with something like that – it’s more a gut feeling than anything else.

But all those maths and sciences have also inspired in him a love of poetry and music. He loves to study the patterns of rhyme and meter, listen to harmonies and beats and figure out which is which. It’s truly beautiful to him, and he loves art even though he knows that the money is in the sciences.

He has also taken to lifting weights. He is a huge fan of the old school of strongman weight training, lifting compound weight as much as he can. He’s not where he wants to be just yet, but the truth is that he likes where he is. He likes the simple honesty of the weights, and loves the quote that ‘200 pounds is 200 pounds.’

This opportunity to indulge in pure learning is something that he never could have had back in Saudi Arabia. And while there are other schools to be found to offer much the same thing, there is no place quite like New York City for doing things like this. Studying in the iconic city is a great source of enthusiasm for him, and he rather pities those people who are unable to see the beauty of where they are and what they’re doing.

But that is his way, though. And he’s just glad for the chance to study here in the meantime.
